Ali Walker Photography Blog bio picture

Welcome!

Thanks for stopping by! I'm Ali Walker, a photographer who takes pictures of people. Little people, big people, young people, old people, and people in love. But mostly I photograph weddings. Why weddings? Because I adore them. Each wedding is a unique and amazing feat of design and, most importantly, a celebration that marks a new era in the life of two people. I am always so honored to be a part of what is really a very intimate day for my clients. My photography approach is both artistic and photojournalistic so that I can create a beautiful, honest story through my camera's viewfinder.

Originally from Bellevue, WA, I now call Walla Walla my home. I have two wee ones who are both funny and clever and a fat black cat with an unfortunate name. When I'm not busy behind my camera, I can be found reading Dwell magazine, listening to Regina Spektor, and dreaming of travel.

Ali Walker Photography is located in downtown Walla Walla just one block off Main Street and is available for wedding and portrait commissions nationwide. If you're planning a wedding or a lifestyle photography session and like what you see, please contact me so we can schedule a meeting and talk about your photography needs.

Married: Anousinh and Erik

Anousinh and Erik were married earlier this month and the amazing 360 Cellars in Kennewick, WA. The day was a split with one a Laotian ceremony in the morning followed by a traditional Western ceremony in the afternoon. Erik loves golf, so we went down to Canyon Lakes Golf Course to do some of the portraits. Here are a few of my favorites from the day.

Despite everyone’s best attempts to prepare the flower girl (Erik’s darling niece), she just wasn’t up to the task.

Erik demonstrates his infamous “two-finger” dance.

So does the bridal party.

A gorgeous Laotian dance at sunset.

The sunset made such an incredible backdrop for the first dance!

Congratulations to Anousinh and Erik!

Check it out!

The incredibly talented Stefanie Hunsaker came out to our home last week to take some photos of our family. I am so thrilled with her vision of us and I can’t wait to hang these on my walls! Stefanie is great to work with–I can’t recommend her highly enough.

Here’s a link to the pics.

See that little pink dress my daughter is wearing? That is her absolute favorite dress ever. She picked it out this spring from a clearance rack at Macy’s while we were out shopping for pajamas for my son. Little did I realize when I bought the dress how dearly she would love it. She would wear it every day if I let her (she manages to wear it about five days a week and it’s a real struggle to sneak it away for a wash what with her waking first thing in the morning and rifling through laundry baskets looking for it). I am so glad we got these photos with her wearing it.

Thank you, Stefanie! We will treasure these images for years to come.

Engaged: Denelle and Eric

I met Denelle and Eric for their engagement shoot at the Gordon Brother’s family farm just north of Pasco. The vineyards was amazing, as was the view of the Snake river. We then raced to downtown Kennewick to get in a few shots as the sun was setting. Eric and Denelle were really fun to work with and I’m looking forward to their wedding next month.

Denelle had a hard time keeping a straight face with me standing just a few feet in front of her with my 35mm lens.

Engaged: Jovelle and Roy

Jovelle and Roy’s engagement session was really fun. Jovelle is all smiles and I really enjoyed working with her and Roy. Here are a few of my favorites from the session.

Married: Marisol and Ray

Marisol and Ray celebrated their union at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in downtown Kennewick, WA. Their ceremony was regal and beautiful, complete with a mariachi band that drove in all the way from Portland!

The day started with Marisol getting ready at House of Style in downtown Kennewick.

Then on to the hotel to get ready. Marisol’s bouquet was to die for!

The stunning Marisol all ready.

And down the elevator to a classic car waiting to take her to the church:

Marisol hidden away and waiting to walk down the aisle.

I took the flower girls out front for a portrait.

A few of my favorite shots from the ceremony, which was all in Spanish. (I studied French in high school and speak nary a lick of Spanish, so I really had to stay on my toes during the Mass.)

A few from the portrait session:

The reception rocked! I loved Marisol’s colors.

A serenade for the bride and groom.

And a fun tradition that can get crazier than a mosh pit!

Marisol and Jovelle, her maid of honor, during the toast. (I will be covering Jovelle’s wedding in November and will be posting her engagement photos this week!)

The first dance.

And I have to give a special shout-out of thanks to Allan Tuan for helping me cover the reception. Allan is a great photographer and was really fun to work with! Here are few of my favorites from him:

Congratulations to Marisol and Ray!
