Jon, Jen, and Family

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

Two weekends ago we drove north to Spokane to visit our good friends Jon and Jen. Dave and Jon were college roommates and we’ve managed to stay in touch for all these years. Jon’s wife, Jen, is one of the sweetest women I’ve ever met and I really enjoy her amazing company. They’ve got the cutest little guys, too. While we were visiting them, we managed to sneak in a quick photo session. Here are a few of my favorites.

One last one of my Claire and little Henry hanging out.

Argh!!

Tomorrow is my son’s birthday, so last night we had a small pirate-themed party to celebrate his big day.

Behold the birthday boy in all his pirate glory.

And here he is featured with the rest of his crew–don’t they look mutinous?

Messy after feasting.

Time for a treasure hunt!

And then a three-legged race.

And finally what the kids had been waiting for all night–cake!

Six candles! When did my baby turn six? I know it’s a bit cliché to say, but I can’t believe how fast he is growing. He’s such a sweet, wonderful boy and I’m truly blessed to be his mother.

New stuff is in the works…including my actual site. Yes, there is a site in addition to the blog, but it’s hanging out behind the scenes for now. Check back in early June for a brand, spankin’ new site. I’m really excited! In the meantime, if you have questions about pricing or anything else, please don’t hesitate to contact me at info@aliwalkerphotography.com.

Engaged: Victoria and Ryan

Monday, May 12th, 2008

Victoria and Ryan met up with me Friday evening for an engagement shoot in downtown Kennewick. These two are so easy-going and fun–I know their wedding day is going to just gorgeous. And I have to thank them for all their patience with my incredible klutziness. I’m normally a bit klutzy, but it hit new highs during their shoot! All I can do is laugh at myself…I am what I am, klutziness and all! Anyhow, we got so many fun, creative shots at their engagement session that I had a difficult time picking which ones to share in this post.

And I have to post some outtakes–somebody at the park had their puppy off-leash and Victoria and Ryan were mauled. Don’t they look traumatized?

Thanks to you both for an awesome shoot!

Wedding: Dan and Marisa

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

Dan and Marisa were married on May 3rd at Ambiance Gardens. These two are such an incredible couple—passionate, elegant, and incredibly fun! Their day was gorgeous and so full of love. Here are some of my favorite images from the day.

The shoes, dress, and flowers.

The ceremony…

Dan and Marisa are bringing children to the marriage and they had a beautiful moment in which they blended sands to represent the union of the family.

They have the most adorable kids. I love the motion of this shot as the kids chase their parents down the aisle.

A few details…

And some reception highlights…

(I think this next shot may be my favorite from the whole day.)

A little speech preparation…

Instead of a traditional cake, Dan and Marisa chose a dessert table. For the first bite, they shared bite-sized triangles of delicious chocolate cake.

Dan invited the Educated Cigar out to the celebration, which was a huge hit with the guests.

The first dance…

Congratulations and best wishes to Dan and Marisa!
